A BIG thank you to all the parents, children, staff and friends who supported the World Cup Fun Day on Saturday.
The weather was extremely kind to us and there were activities for all the family during the three hour long event. We hope to post some photos in the next week or so for you to see!
The Fun Day finished with the presentation of the Friends of St Mary’s PTFA Trophy (kindly donated by Progress Sports) to the Infant Parents Football Team. The Junior Parents Football Team were awarded Runners Up and the Staff Team were awarded third place Bronze Medals. Well done to all who took part, and a special thanks to our referee Terry Boylan. Congratulations also to Joseph, year 6, who won the Beat the Goalie competition!
There are still some squares available on our Spot the Ball competition. Each square costs £1 and if you choose the winning square you will win £50! If you would like to purchase a square pop into school and see Mrs Driscoll please.
We haven’t got a final figure yet, but we have raised in excess of £1,000 which will be used to support school activities for your children.
This was the first event of this kind that the PTFA has held – and the feedback was that people had enjoyed the day! We do require help to run events and special thanks must go to the small number of parents / grandparents from outside the PTFA and the year 6 girls who helped set up, run stalls and tidy – we couldn’t have managed without your help, thank you.
If you are interested in finding out more about the work of the PTFA please speak to Amanda Mannion. Alternatively please consider helping at one of our future events!
We would also like to thank the following companies and organisations for their generous support: Antonio’s Bakery, Barclaycard Business Centre, The British Red Cross, The Co-operative, Esso, Knowsley Hall Estate, Mr Freeze, Saville Audio-Visual, Single Source, SoccerSuckers UK, Subway, The Scouts.
Thank you all for your support.
