Admissions to St Mary’s
St. Mary’s C.E. Primary School is a Voluntary Aided (VA) School. This means that the Governors are responsible for deciding the school’s admission arrangements.
The admission arrangements have been determined in accordance with the School Admissions Code.
Admissions to St Mary’s Church of England Primary School are the responsibility of the Governing Body in agreement with the Diocesan Board of Education and the Local Authority. Parents who wish to apply for a place for their child should complete the School Admission Form as well as the Common Application Form supplied by the Local Authority. This is usually completed online.
The standard number agreed for admission to our one Reception Class is 30 pupils. By law no Infant Class may contain more than 30 children without additional arrangements being made. In the event of applications for admissions exceeding this number in any one year the Governors will have regard to the following criteria and will give points as indicated within the table within this document.
Places will be given to the 30 applicants with the most points. Where the number of points is the same, priority will be given to the applicant with most points for each section of the application form in sequence. In the event of a tie-break places will be allocated to the child who lives nearest to the School. This is calculated using the Liverpool Council software.
