Our Spelling Bee Competition has been a huge success last half term, with many children now confidently reading and writing all phase 2 tricky words independently (I, the, to, no, go, into). This is amazing! Well done everyone for all your hard work at home and in school learning these words.
If your child has not yet participated in our phase 2 tricky word competition due to school only being open for key worker and vulnerable children, don’t worry! We will ensure everyone gets chance to participate when we’re all back in school together. If your child is learning from home and is confident reading and writing the phase 2 tricky words, you can now move onto the phase 3 tricky words.
Some children will have already moved onto to learning phase 3 tricky words towards the end of last half term. The phase 3 tricky words are (he, she, we, me, be, was, you, they, all, are, my, her). Throughout Spring 2 term we will be holding our weekly spelling bee competitions in class. All children who are able to read and spell these words will receive a spelling bee certificate!
If your child is confident reading and spelling all phase 2 and 3 tricky words independently, if you wish, you may move onto phase 4 words. Please note, that we will not be learning these words in class just yet. The phase 4 tricky words are (said, have, like, so, do, some, come, little, one, were, out, what, when, there).
