Key Stage 2 visited the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall this afternoon as part of our Arts Week. The theme was Revolution so were treated to various pieces of music that were revolutionary. Composers were given a Revolution Rating and their message was given to everyone. Children made themselves at home straightaway - even Warcop the Bear came with us! There was even a chance to join in with some singing and dancing!
Thank you to Mrs Armstrong for a thoroughly entertaining afternoon - I hope Key Stage 1 enjoy theirs just as much.
Arts week began with a massive bang, bang, bang! Today, Brian a.k.a. Samba Bamba visited school with a vast array of percussion instruments which all children got to try. We did some warm ups to get familiar with the Samba rhythms before having a go at creating some ourselves. The day ended with a finale in the hall where all staff had to join in! (Videos on The Gallery page)
A big thank you to Mrs Armstrong for organising this week's events.

Mr Peter Bull, R.E. teacher at Alsop High School and Co-ordinator of Faith 2017, visited school this afternoon with some furry friends : 4 teddies which were on a pilgrimage from small schools in Cumbria. The Ethos Ambassadors were then invited to release 40 balloons to help launch 40 Acts of Kindness and Action.
Faith 2017 consists of a series of events, talks, visits, workshops and social action projects, facilitated by Alsop High School in partnership with Together for the Common Good, Liverpool SACRE, The Archbishop of York Youth Trust, Liverpool Diocese, local secondary and partner primary schools, churches of different denominations, other faith traditions and community groups.
One of the teddies, from Warcop C.E. Primary School, was left with us along with his passport which we have been invited to fill in during Lent.
