Walking in the light of God’s Love-Together we will succeed
Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
Celebrate with us!
'Class stars' are children selected by the class teacher - it could be for extra hard work, a great attitude or achieving something individual to the pupil.
Ho!Ho!Ho! Santa came to St Mary's today and everyone got to visit to tell him what. They wanted. He will be returning to the North Pole to check who is on his naughty list before the big day!
Thank you to the PTFA for another lovely grotto and for giving up your time to enable all children to visit and be presented with a selection box.
Today KS2 had workshops on Mental Health from Mrs Sumpter and two CAMHS specialists. Children talked about positive and negative feelings and where in our bodies these feelings can be felt. We then made 'Mind Apples' where we had to come up with our 5-a-day to keep our minds healthy.
We were then taught some Mindfulness techniques - breathing and exercises, to help us when we are feeling a little bogged down! Thank you Mrs Sumpter for organising this great morning.
For today's Collective Worship, the Rector decided to play a game of 'Pin the Tail on the Donkey'! Three staff were chosen (we weren't very good at it) and then three children got to have a go.
The message was about how we might live our lives in darkness, without direction but if we let Jesus into our lives, he will lead us into light and show us the way.
Scholastic Book Fair
Thank-you so much for supporting our latest book fair. We were very happy to see so many people coming to the fair and enjoying the wide selection of books on sale.
Not only did many of you purchase a book, but by doing so, you also helped us gain commission for school which will be directly reinvested in the children’s education.
This year the rewards will be spent upon comprehension texts for each class, so that every child will benefit.
The Book Fair raised a magnificent £1,167 in sales.
A huge, “Thank-you," must be said to one of our governors, Mr Norman Dunsby , who ran the fair for us along with parents - Mrs Manion and Mrs Lynes. Without the help of volunteers, it would not be possible to run such a successful event. Thanks also go to Kharis Dunsby, a former St. Mary’s pupil.
Our next fair will be in March and we all look forward to seeing you then. In the meantime.......Keeeeeeep reading!
