Walking in the light of God’s Love-Together we will succeed
Our Oracy vision for children at St. Mary's CE Primary, is that all children have a voice and have the speaking and listening skills they need to equip them for life.
Why oracy matters?
By teaching students to become effective speakers and listeners we empower them to better understand themselves, each other and the world around them.
At St. Mary's oracy is at the heart of our teaching and learning across all subject areas, enabling students to develop and deepen their knowledge and understanding through talk in the classroom.
We support our students to become articulate communicators who are able to present themselves confidently across a range of settings and contexts, from group discussions to formal presentations.
At St. Mary's we believe that;
– Oracy allows each child to be celebrated for who they are.
- Oracy provides our children with the opportunity to express themselves.
-Oracy allows children to have a voice and share their true feelings and thoughts.
- Oracy enables our children to shine and be a role model for others through their words and actions.
- Oracy gives our children the skills to express themselves and be considered with what they say.
