  • Reading book amnesty

    Thu 22 May 2014
We are having an amnesty of school books you may have at home - either from a child currently at this school, or from a sibling who has moved on to secondary school. Sets of books and library stocks are diminishing so if you find any - please send them in! Many thanks in anticipation.
  • Exploring WWI through Christian Values

    Wed 21 May 2014
Today, Class 5 and Class 6 visited the Anglican Cathedral to take part in a series of workshops to explore experiences of the First World war through Christian Values. The values we explored were Love, Friendship, Courage, Perseverance and Trust. By the end of the day, we had also added Hope and Justice to our list. Children wore 'dogtags' on which they had to record the values they discovered through each workshop.

Workshops included writing prayers, receiving orders as a soldier and making a book.

All of the children had a wonderful day and the Cathedral staff were extremely complimentary about their behaviour - well done children!

  • ICT Project

    Wed 07 May 2014

Children who are part of the Y6 ICT project visited Barlows Primary School to meet with other members of the project. School Inspectors and staff from Sony were also present in order to see what the children have been doing and how the project is progressing. Our school, along with 5 others, is part of a pilot project working with Sony to see how gaming fits into the curriculum to produce gamemakers of the future.
After a very enjoyable afternoon, children were presented with their very own 'Sackboy' who is the central character to the 'Little Big Planet' game we are working on.
