Our school choir attended Alsop High School today as part of their Hillsborough Justice Day which was formally launched by Mrs Margaret Aspinall, Chair of Hillsborough Family Support Group.
The day commenced with a formal act of worship to remember the 96 who died at Hillsborough. Special prayers were led by Rev Canon Ellen Loudon, Director of Social Justice of Liverpool Diocese with readings and musical items from the Alsop Vocal Group.
Our choir was joined by the choir from Pinehurst Primary school to sing a special rendition of You Will Never Walk Alone.
The Justice Day is part of the FAITH 2017 initiative which is being co-ordinated by Alsop.
The children were presented with two rose plants which will be planted in the school grounds as a lasting memorial. Many thanks to Mr Bull for inviting us to be part of this important day and to Mrs Armstrong and the school choir for their participation and musical endeavours!
