  • Deacon David visits St. Mary's

    Fri 27 Sep 2013
We love to welcome visitors to Collective Worship and this week we were delighted to welcome back Deacon David Smith from West Derby Methodist Church. We continued to learn about our value of friendship and we learnt about Luke Chapter 5, when true friendship was shown. We were also reminded about using the worry box if we needed help in restoring a friendship. We look forward to welcoming Deacon David again soon.

  • Be Creative

    Thu 26 Sep 2013
We have had a wonderful time this week working with local artist Andi Taylor who has begun to transform our school entrance with artwork designed and created by the children. Andi from ‘Be Creative Art’, joined by Miss Hendry, worked with each year group to inspire the children to illustrate our Christian Values in their own distinctive way...and the results speak for themselves!
Come and see our “Tree of Hearts”-(each child designed their own heart) and our beautiful cross of reflection. We hope that this very special work, so enjoyed by the children, has helped to reveal the values upon which our school is built – Friendship, Courage, Justice, Thankfulness, Hope and Forgiveness.
A huge “Thank-you” to Andi, whom we hope to invite again very soon in order to help the further development of our Christian distinctiveness.
