Thank you to everyone who came along to support our autumn book fair. I hope you are enjoying reading your new stories or information books and are all pleased with your purchases.
Sales at the fair reached £878.52. This marvellous total means that school can claim rewards to a total of £527.11 which is sixty percent of the sales total.
The rewards are claimed in class books which are purchased as class sets and are enjoyed by all the children as they move through the year groups.
A big thank you must go to Mr Dunsby and Mrs Dawes, both of whom are parents of former pupils, and Mrs Lynch who all help us to run the fair each year.
Thank you for your continued support and I hope to see you at the next book fair in the Spring Term.
Mrs J Armstrong

Open the Book visited us this morning. Today we watched the parable of the The Widow's Coins. This was about poor widow at the temple. Although others put in more money, they were richer and had more to give, but the poor widow gave all she had so she gave the most.
We then learned a new song about a penny.
We were visited by Matt Lee, who is a decathlete, as part of the Sport For Champions initiative. Matt will be representing Great Britain in the 2019 Indoor Athletics Championships.
Children who had been sponsored took part in a series of challenges with Matt. Some of the monies raised goes directly to school for P.E. initiatives, the rest goes to Sport For Champions to help support athlete training for Great British athletes.
Thank you to Mr Moran and Mr Wilson for all of their hard work in organising and running this event. Children raised an amazing £839.20 of which school receives over £300! Well done!
This afternoon, the whole school was treated to a performance of Jack and the Beanstalk. M and M Productions were spectacular and even the staff got up for a dance! You can see Mr Kelly and Mr Hopkins busting some moves over in the Gallery.
The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The cost of this production is to be met from School Fund.

This morning, the Whole School participated in an act of Remembrance to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War 1.
The whole school listened to the story of Peace Lily before congregating on John's Garden where the Last Post was played and two minutes silence was observed. Each class has made a poppy wreath and two members of each class presented their wreaths which were laid at the foot of unknown soldiers. After saying prayers, we then headed back into school.
We are so fortunate to have such an amazing bookbuddy. Bronnie and Bob at The Bookwagon have once again sent us some beautiful books for everyone to enjoy. Mr Hargreaves is amazed at how generous they are and how amazing the books are. Thank you Bronnie and Bob.
