  • St Mary's Experiences Easter

Thu 22 Mar 2018 Mr Hargreaves

Today the children and staff travelled around Jerusalem.  Beginning at the gate to Jerusalem they walked the Triumphant Entry on Palm Sunday.  They then went to the Upper Room and shared Jesus' special Last Supper.  The Garden of Gethsemane was used for the next refection before the Arrest and Trial of Jesus.  Children sat around The Cross and then entered the empty Tomb.  Each class finished in the hall with a chance to sum up their experience and eat lovely Easter Cakes!  Lots of pictures will appear but here are a few to enjoy.

Thank you so much to Mr and Mrs Yates, Mrs Gornall, Mrs Critchley and Mrs Moore who helped all day today.  You were amazing!

  • Learning about Iran

Wed 21 Mar 2018 Mrs Hall
This afternoon Tamana's mum came into school to tell Reception all about Iran. She talked about what everyday life is like and brought lots of things to show - the children especially liked the cake!
  • Anti-Bullying Performance

Mon 19 Mar 2018 Mrs Hall
This afternoon, years 2-6 watched a performance of The B Word which had strong anti-bullying messages. We watched the story of Dan, who was at a new school, being bullied by Tom and Phobe. Children found out that things which may seem 'just a laugh' are not always the case. They found out about why cyber-bullying is wrong too. Audience participation was required and the children got really involved at some points! Thank you to Miss Turpin for organising today's performance.

  • PTFA Logo Competition

Fri 02 Mar 2018 Mrs Hall

Congratulations to Will Jones for winning the PTFA competition to design a new logo. Mrs Lamkin and Mrs Taylor came into collective worship this morning to present certificates and Haribo to everyone who took part - and there were lots of entrants! Will was presented with a beautiful chocloate cake donated by The West Derby Cake Lady. Keep a look out for it on all correspondence.

Thank you to everyone who entered and a huge thank you to the PTFA for all the wonderful work they do to enrich our school life.

  • A piece of history!

Fri 02 Mar 2018 Mrs Hall
We have recently been sent a document which is over one hundred years old! The certificate was presented to an ex-pupil, Robert Mason, during the Great War. This has been sent to school by a member of his family. The paper is very delicate but the decoration is still quite bright. We will now have this put into a frame to preserve this piece of school history.
