Fri 12 Jul 2019 Mrs Hall

This morning, the whole school came together for the final of this year's St. Mary's Got X-Factor Talent. Both acts performed then we all returned to our classes to vote.

Congratuations to Emilia P who won- what a beautiful voice! Congratulations also to Sam R who was runner-up for a thoroughly entertaining magic show.

Thank you to Miss McKinlay and Mr Kelly for giving up their lunchtimes to audition the acts. Thank you to Mrs Armstrong, Mrs Walsh and Mrs McGreary for helping on the night.

St. Mary's really does have talent!

  • Author Post

Tue 09 Jul 2019 Mrs Hall

Class 4 wrote to M.G.Leonard, the author of Beetle Boy as we had read the first book and enjoyed it so much. Each child wrote a postcard and drew an insect on the front, then we sent them off and waited.

Today, we received a large envelope full of goodies. M.G.Leonard answered everyone's questions and sent each child a badge, a sticker and a personalised postcard - they were thrilled!

  • Aspirations Day

Tue 02 Jul 2019 Mrs Hall

What an amazing effort from everyone today! So many different jobs and careers have been chosen: doctors, nurses, vets, artists, teachers, footballers, firemen, pilots, engineers, scientists, make-up artists, designers and even a hulk and a dinosaur! Thank you all for embracing the day.

Classes will have a range of visitors today from lots of different professions: Everton in the Community, a Diocesan training leader, nurses, a scientist, a Councillor, police, a beautician, construction worker, Williamson Tunnels tour operator, a genomics education manager and even Billy Butler!

A huge thank you to Miss Turpin for all the hard work she puts into making this event happen, and to Mrs Leung-Vaughan for her help with sourcing visitors.
