  • Historic Newspapers

Thu 28 Apr 2016 Mrs Hall / Miss Nolan

We would like to thank Historic newspapers for the free teaching resources that arrived this week. We received three packs of reproduction newspapers, covering the First World War, Second World War and other key world events such as the sinking of the Titanic and the first man on the moon.

Newspapers are a wonderful way to teach children about history, each newspaper is filled with stories from eyewitnesses who were present at the time, making it a pleasurable was to aid learning and engage interest and imagination.

  • Happy Birthday You Majesty

Thu 21 Apr 2016 Mr Hargreaves

Yesterday, to mark the 90th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, our pupils stood at the front of School and sung Happy Birthday, the National Anthem and then ended with our second verse of Happy Birthday.  It was lovely singing this across West Derby Village.  People did stop and others came out of the nearby houses to listen.  A very memorable day!  I hope you enjoy the video on this website (Summer Term Gallery) and the photograph below.

    Happy Birthday to you!

    Happy Birthday to you!

    Happy Birthday Your Majesty;

    Happy Birthday to you!

    God save the Queen!

    Send her victorious,

    Happy and glorious,

    Long to reign over us,

    God save the Queen!

    Happy Birthday to you,

    To Jesus be true

    May God’s richest blessings

    Abide upon you!

  • Celebration Assembly

Fri 01 Apr 2016 Mrs Hall

This morning was an epic! Children from every class made a presentation on the aspects of Islam that they were allocated for this week. This gave a broad overview of the Islam faith and its practices.

Children who achieved them were then presented with their bronze or silver attendance certificates ( and a box of Maltesers for those on silver).
