We return to school on Monday January 6th
This morning St mary's had a very special visitor - the Lord Mayor. The Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Gary Millar joined Mrs Dunsby and Mrs Yates who led us in our collective worship which was to celebrate Christingle. Class 6 made Christingles during the worship before the Lord Mayor told us all about his gold chain and his offices at the town hall. He was then presented with a Christingle along with each class.
We would like to thank the Lord Mayor for taking the time out of his busy schedule to visit us. We would also like to thank Mrs Dunsby and Mrs Yates for leading our collective worships this term.
Today, the whole school went to the cinema at Edge Lane to see Frozen. It was a lovely film which gained a round of applause at the end so I am sure all of the children (and staff) enjoyed it. Thank you to the PTFA for subsidising this event.
We then returned to school to be greeted by lovely laid out tables in the hall where children had their Christmas dinners. Staff waited on the children, music played and crackers were pulled. Thank you to Mrs Edwards and her staff for all of their efforts!
Carols and Christmas Tea
On Monday 16th December, the PTFA provided a lovely Christmas Tea for parents and grandparents while the choir sang songs and Christmas carols.
The tables were decorated with bright paper and there was a lovely festive atmosphere in the hall.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and agreed that this could become an annual event!
Thanks to everyone who took part.
