Walking in the light of God’s Love-Together we will succeed
Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
Celebrate with us!
'Class stars' are children selected by the class teacher - it could be for extra hard work, a great attitude or achieving something individual to the pupil.
The whole school were stunned this afternoon when we received a very special visitor! We were having an assembly to celebrate our IQM Award when in walked Jamie Webster! Some of the Year 6 children were so surprised that they burst into tears!
Jamie is an ex-pupil of St Mary's and came to talk to the children about being nice to others, being a kind person, having respect and working hard. The children then got to ask Jamie questions before each class had their photographs taken with him.
Unfortunately, Jamie has not been well this week and has a show tomorrow so he could not treat us to a song this time. Perhaps next time?
Today Mr Harrop visited Goodison to receive our IQM (Inclusion Quality Mark)). We were assessed for this last year and are very proud to have received it - the assessor even said we should be a Centre of Excellence!
The award and IQM Bear were presented to our Head Boy and Head Girl in an assembly this afternoon.
The KS2 children have been buzzing all day after their visit with author, Justyn Edwards. He told us all about his books, his writing process and why reading is amazing! He baffled us with magic tricks which Mr Harrop is still trying to figure out.
Justyn then signed copies of his books for everyone that wanted them.
Thanks to families for supporting this event. A massive THANK YOU to Heather from @Reading_Rocks for organising this wonderful event and to Justyn for his time and entertainment.

In addition to saying goodbye to all of our Year Six children as they move on to secondary school, it is with sadness that we say goodbye to Mrs Railton after 27 years at St. Mary's. Mrs Railton has served St Mary's Well and she will be truly missed.
We had an assembly with royal cutouts, gifts and cards from the children. This was rounded off with a sideshow of pictures spanning the years.
I'm sure we will see Mrs Railton from time to time.
