Walking in the light of God’s Love-Together we will succeed
Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
Celebrate with us!
'Class stars' are children selected by the class teacher - it could be for extra hard work, a great attitude or achieving something individual to the pupil.
This morning we completed part 2 of the Festival of Sport. Fortunately the sun shone and children threw themselves into the last five events: standing long jump, hockey, sack race, water relay and relay.
Following the conclusion of these rounds, the 'elite' events took place where children from each year group, chosen from their PE lessons, took part in javelin, long jump, sergeant jump, high jump, long distance run and short distance run. Events ran well into lunchtime so winners were presented with their trophies this afternoon and the winning house was Alt.
Thank you to Mr Kirby, Mr Moran and Mr Wilson for organising the day and thank you to all of the staff for running events.

What a 'practically perfect' performance yet again! Every year Mrs Armstrong and the choir surpass themselves with their talents : singing, dancing and acting and this year was no exception! Mary Poppins was a wonderful celebration of the talented children we have in our choir.
Choreography was provided by Mrs Challoner and music, prose and costumes by Mrs Armstrong. Many months of practising go into each performance with choir being held two nights a week and extra lunchtime practices nearer to the performance. I'm sure those of you who attended could see the hard work and dedication that went into the performance.
Thank you once again to the PTFA who provided the cream tea. They work tirelessly to run events for the benefit of all the children at our school.
School was treated to a preview as we were able to watch the dress rehearsal. Thank you to Mrs Armstrong for a wonderful show, thank you to Mrs Challoner for the choreography and thank you to the school choir for your enthusiasm and talents!

Greeting from our residential on The Isle of Man! We have had an amazing time and the sun has shone! We were in 5 smaller groups:
Group 1 - Mr Kirby and Mr Moran,
Group 2 - Mrs Walsh,
Group 3 - Mr Wilson all working together
Group 4 Mrs Lynch
Group 5 - Mr Hargreaves.
We all completed the same activities, just in a different order. We completed: field archery, abseiling, raft building, wide game, barn archery, assault course, gorge walking, rifle shooting, campfire and Operation Phoenix! We hope you enjoy the photos! There are a mix of photos but currently mostly from Group 5 and some group 4. There will be lots more from the other groups very soon.
Mr Hargreaves
All day we tried (for the second time) to complete our Festival of Sport 2017! On the third attempt at 2.55pm we were able to get onto the KS2 yard and complete Round 1-6 of Sports Day. We were really happy to see many parents arrive as they heard the music and join us during the 35 minutes. Ending with our Dance for all parents to see was a lovely moment. We hope to complete Rounds 7-12 and the second half of our Festival of Sport over the next couple of weeks. Thank you for your understanding today.
We hope you enjoy the photos from this afternoon. You'll see the empty rainy playground then all of a sudden...action!

With only a couple of weeks to go until the end of term you'd think we'd be starting to wind down - not here at St Mary's! Today we have had Aspirations Day, a barbecue and St Mary's Bake Off!
Thank you to all of the parents who gave up their time to come into school to talk to the children about their jobs. We really appreciate that it is your time off that you have given up. The children enjoyed all of the sessions and some have even said that they know what they want to do when they grow up! Thank you to Miss Turpin for organising the whole day.
Thankfully the weather perked up for the barbecue and activities. All monies raised go directly towards enriching the curriculum through drama and visitors for all of the children.
