Jennifer Killick- virtual visit
Thu 19 Nov 2020Class 4 had an exciting afternoon as they had a virtual visit from author, Jennifer Killick. Once we had found a way around some technical problems, Jennifer talked about her books and especially the one we are currently reading in class : Mo, Lottie and the Junkers.
Children then took part in a Q & A session before being whisked off to be hunters at Crater Lake!
We we had a great time and the children are excited to finish the book now. Thank you to the PTFA for funding this event.

Fri 13 Nov 2020Thank you so much for your support of this event, especially given the current climate.
The school was brightened today up by spots galore, t-shirts and headwear. Over £500 has been raised - the actual total will be updated when all monies have been counted.

Remembrance Day
Wed 11 Nov 2020This morning, members of the School Council went to the West Derby Cenotaph with Mr Harrop to take part in the Act of Remembrance. They laid a wreath on behalf of the school before returning to school.
For the Fallen
With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.
Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres,
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.
They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

At the going down of the sun and in the morning
