Walking in the light of God’s Love-Together we will succeed
Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
Celebrate with us!
'Class stars' are children selected by the class teacher - it could be for extra hard work, a great attitude or achieving something individual to the pupil.
This morning we also said goodbye to Mrs McGreary as she retires. Mrs McGreary came to us in 2006 as a volunteer helper before returning for a job in 2010 and she has been here ever since! She has worked hard to make sure the reading books are organised and distributed efficiently as well as working with so many groups of children over the years. We wish her a long and happy retirement.
This morning we said goodbye to Year 6. We wish them every success as they move on to their secondary schools. Work hard and show them what you're made of. Come back and see us!
As part of our French studies, we celebrated an important French festival day - Bastille Day. Children came in wearing the colours of the Tricolore and took part in French-themed activities. They learned about other French customs and famous landmarks before sampling some French foods. Each class had a different food to taste : pain au chocolate, eclair, madeleine, macaron, camembert and baguette or quiche.
Merci á Mr Hopkins for organising the day and providing all of the foods to taste!

The rain held off for us today and we were able to have our sports day on the KS2 playground this morning watched by a lot of spectators.
There was running, jumping, throwing and balancing - even a sack race for the parents!
Thank you to everyone who came to watch, I'm sure you will agree that the children gave their all. Thank you to the Year 5 children who helped run the events and a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Mr Moran who organises and runs the whole thing -- multiple times!
Well done to the Year 4 mums who 'volunteered' for the sack race and to Mr Walker who also caved in to pressure!

As part of our curriculum study of World Faiths, Year 3 and Year 4 visited the Al-Rahma Mosque in Toxteth which has been there since the 1950s.
We were greeted by Abdul who took us in and showed us where to put our shoes before entering the prayer hall. Inside was a beautiful carpet which gives everyone enough space to pray. We had some time to ask initial questions before being shown parts of the prayer hall and told what they were for and about praying five times a day. We were then treated to a beautiful call to prayer from Abdul.
We went upstairs to a smaller prayer room where we got to see the Qur'an and how it is read from right to left. Abdul then read the first chapter to us in Arabic, telling us what it means. We were then told about how the mosque is used for the community.
We got time to ask any more questions then it was time to go. As we were leaving, Abdul presented us with beautiful gifts of two Qur'ans and a translation guide.
