Walking in the light of God’s Love-Together we will succeed
Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
Celebrate with us!
'Class stars' are children selected by the class teacher - it could be for extra hard work, a great attitude or achieving something individual to the pupil.
Today the whole school visited the Showcase Cinema to watch Nativity Rocks. This whole event, including the transport, was organised by the PTFA. It is events like this which are funded by funds raised through events supported by you.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the film - even breaking into applause when a bad guy got his comeuppance!
Thank you to all of the parents and grandparents who came along as helpers and a massive thank you to the PTFA for all their hard work in running events and organising the visit.
This morning, a lovely golden parcel arrived at school for us. Whenever any of these parcels arrive, it always brightens up the day because our Bookbuddies, Bronnie and Bob at The Bookwagon always send us beautiful books. Today was no exceptions - as you can see they have sent us some amazing festive books - we can't wait to get our teeth into these.
Thank you Bronnie and Bob! Season's Greetings to you both from all at St Mary's.
This morning, the PTFA worked their usual magic and hosted an amazing event - Breakfast With Santa. The PTFA and their little elves worked late into the evening to ensure the hall looked beautiful and was ready to go first thing. Everywhere was very festive and children were so excited.
Children had a choice of breakfasts and drinks, crackers to pull and craft or colouring activities. Santa made his way around the hall, high- fiving and spreading Christmas cheer!
A HUGE THANK YOU to the PTFA and their elves for yet another successful event.

Thank you to everyone who came along to support our autumn book fair. I hope you are enjoying reading your new stories or information books and are all pleased with your purchases.
Sales at the fair reached £878.52. This marvellous total means that school can claim rewards to a total of £527.11 which is sixty percent of the sales total.
The rewards are claimed in class books which are purchased as class sets and are enjoyed by all the children as they move through the year groups.
A big thank you must go to Mr Dunsby and Mrs Dawes, both of whom are parents of former pupils, and Mrs Lynch who all help us to run the fair each year.
Thank you for your continued support and I hope to see you at the next book fair in the Spring Term.
Mrs J Armstrong

Open the Book visited us this morning. Today we watched the parable of the The Widow's Coins. This was about poor widow at the temple. Although others put in more money, they were richer and had more to give, but the poor widow gave all she had so she gave the most.
We then learned a new song about a penny.
We were visited by Matt Lee, who is a decathlete, as part of the Sport For Champions initiative. Matt will be representing Great Britain in the 2019 Indoor Athletics Championships.
Children who had been sponsored took part in a series of challenges with Matt. Some of the monies raised goes directly to school for P.E. initiatives, the rest goes to Sport For Champions to help support athlete training for Great British athletes.
Thank you to Mr Moran and Mr Wilson for all of their hard work in organising and running this event. Children raised an amazing £839.20 of which school receives over £300! Well done!
