Following Collective Worship, Year 6 were treated to a Continental style Breakfast! After all their hard work this week, we felt it was important to celebrate the determination, courage, perseverance and effort they put in. Despite news headlines this morning from the Secretary of State for Education who seems against this - we still believe it is essential to celebrate the success and the conclusion of this assessment landmark. We will continue to celebrate the success of ALL OUR PUPILS. Learning continues on Monday (there's the rest of the curriculum to teach before July) ... but for today, let's show we believe in our children and honour the effort the they have put it.
The children throughly enjoyed their time to chat and reflect on the week just gone and were so polite, thankful and grateful for the experience.
Year 6 have COMPLETED their SATs! We are so proud of them! This week they have approached their assessments with real pride, determination and skill. The tests were challenging but each pupil worked with determination. Work in Y6 continues but this major milestone has been completed! Thank you Y6 and Mrs Walsh for a week that has shown just what St Mary's pupils can do ... shine, grow, have faith, be nurtured, strive, achieve and aspire!
Party poppers today and tomorrow breakfast! Thank you PTFA for the 'chocolate reward' too!
(Pictures are here and the location of the video clip will be signposted)!

We would like to thank Historic newspapers for the free teaching resources that arrived this week. We received three packs of reproduction newspapers, covering the First World War, Second World War and other key world events such as the sinking of the Titanic and the first man on the moon.
Newspapers are a wonderful way to teach children about history, each newspaper is filled with stories from eyewitnesses who were present at the time, making it a pleasurable was to aid learning and engage interest and imagination.
